Recovery and the American Dream

The Stimulus --Recovery Plan Passed, today, this afternoon. According to the White House Blog

Find more details here. The Agenda explains the "plan" and even has past speeches published.

The White House Blog appears to be updated multiple times a day.

"And we expect you, the American people, to hold us accountable for the results. That is why we have created Recovery.gov – so every American can go online and see how their money is being spent." Said The President, today.

www.recovery.gov you can even share your recovery story!

What about sharing stories and tears about the loss of the American Dream, rather than Recovery. How are we going to Recover from what has happened? Does the American Dream exist? (here you can write your about your experiences with the American Economy and it's fall around you).

I have to Ponder...?

How does America explain to their children why you’re their not working, and why they are moving from their three bedroom house, to an apartment. Where their car went? Why Mommy and Daddy are always upset and frustrated with each other. Why Santa Claus did not visit this year, or if he did why was Christmas so slim. How does America explain to their children, why the promised Disney Vacation has been canceled. Do you explain to your children how your job laid you off without notice, and their beloved home--your house was taken away from you…because the interest rate was jacked so high--even two incomes could not afford the payment.

Maybe as we journey down the road of RECOVERY and tell our stories, we will remember to “not” live beyond our means. To live within our means, pay our debt off immediately and that a line of CREDIT---is just that a LINE OF CREDIT….not a LIFESTYLE.

Until next time! Good luck with "YOUR" Recovery and Debt Reduction

PSS: I would like to share that I am very frustrated with my student loan. I will share in the near future, when I have clear thoughts and my more details in place.

The Truth Is

I have decided that I hate the process of Convertingall my files, and life to VISTA! Life is easier with the operating system, XP. I understand the system and upgrades, in XP world. VISTA is a---another language for me to figure out. URRR. Me not happy!

On to more important and fun things. Today was Presidents Day. Check out these this site, and this site.

Post To The President is a blog for Americans to write, to the "president".

Portraits of Economy is a site dedicated for individuals/families, the working class, to express how the economy is effecting them, in their area of the world. Stories here are well-spoken and difficult to believe.

The Truth Is that I work with the public, daily. I work with people who have nothing and have lost everything. I work with people who have lost the ability to hope and the ability to believe. The TRUTH about my position, about my job and the people that I work with, is that I see them for a "moment" in their life. I see them for just a moment and explain what is possible and what is not possible. I see them for a moment to deliver "more" bad news, in their already depressing life.

The Truth Is I have to separate myself from the pubic and their loss of hope. The Truth Is I care and worry about my claimants/consumers. And Sometimes it is better not think about them loosing their homes, or not being able to eat, or living in the Local Mission with their two children...For my self preservation.

The Truth Is I think about and I care about the public that I serve.

And Portraits of Economy made it real, right here, right now, rather than...

Job reduction and loss

The weekend has flown by. Been busy learning how to read and write HTML code. When I was finally comfortable with the some of the concepts, several chapters into my handy manual, I decided to give the activities a whirl.

Guess what?

My Word--rather Works Program does not support HTML Code, rather does not save such documents. Totally BLOWS.

So. I will continue reading, until I can purchase an upgrade.

Receive horrific news on Valentines Day. My brother who recently moved his family 10 hours across company (job relocation, due to restructuring and downsizing), who still has his home, that he pay still makes Payments on, monthly. And rent.  Just WAS JUST DOWN-SIZED AGAIN. Not many details, given, other than he's not working and neither is his wife. This is horrible. Just horrible.

Is anybody safe in their jobs?

Do you feel safe in your job? Do you worry about getting a pink slip? Or notice of being laid off?

My mother who works in the "high" demand, in the health industry her employer just reduced their staff, too. The Health Field is reducing their staff!? Holly COW!! At least my mother, has her position!

I am off work for two days! Took a nice little vacation.

A little over board

What I find odd:

1)Pizza Delivery guy driving a HUMMER. Does he use his tips to pay for gas? Just doesn't make sense?

2) Drivers that don't turn their lights on when it is dusk out or RAINING.

3). The lady that decided that six children were not enough...therefore she decided to have eight more children AT ONCE.

4). Mistaking Supplemental Security Income (SSI)and Food Stamps as "assistances" and not welfare. True SSI does not actually state that it's a welfare program, however, SSI is a needs based program-based off a persons resources and income. Not to mention, the individual receiving SSI must be disabled or old age.

5). My hair. I love my hair--but I do find it's behavior very odd and misbehaving.

6). The desperation fromcallers on the Dave Ramsey Show. The callers seeking help and advise to dig themselves out of the hole, they are in. Just odd that simple math is so complex for majority of the people. That simple principals are complex for people to follow...i.e. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A JOB DON'T SPEND MONEY.

7). Defaulting on student loans when one is totally capiable and able to pay, and then complains when they are garnished.

8). That telling lies for some people is so easy and normal?!

Lost it all, maybe tomorrow...

I had the most prefect entry, with several links and some snappy comments.

However my computer decided to do this "hiccup" thing and my computer FROZEN. Which caused me to loose everything I had typed over the last hour. Now if I had actually save the content I was working on, then I wouldn't be "re-writing" my entry.

Well I didn't save the entry and I am rewriting everything.

No I lied. I am not going to rewrite my prior post...I don't have the energy nor am I in the mood now.

Lets talk about things that will make me happy:

American Idol!

Chap stick

Hair ties--I have love / hate relationship with them

Big Daddy--my boy friend, makes me so very happy--and totally in love w/him.

Improvement Direct

I love listening to music. I really love drowning out noise at work--w/music and this is a perfect way!

Tomorrow I will try my post...I will be in better spirits.
